League I : IE
I woke up at five, went back to sleep at five, and was rudely awakened again at six. For some reason, it takes me an insanely long time to get dressed. I barely ate anything, and forgot to bring my painkillers, which was just..stupid. I also brought my homework and forgot the textbook because I was in a rush. I'm just glad my sister didn't get the opportunity to attack me with makeup again this time. [By the end of the day, I think the makeup was more of a liability than an asset. It was completely messed up, probably from crying..]
round one
I had another Indian parent, heh. I had to go first, which really sucked, because I hadn't done my speech since Ganer and that fairly odd coaching session. We had to go to a storage room or something because our classroom was taken. I had planned to do walking in my piece, but there was literally no room to walk. This varsity girl walked and nearly fell over one of the chairs. I basically had no emotion and no facial expressions and no movement, just voice. I competed against Noha, Tania, the Mulan girl, the hysterical Tell-Tale Heart girl, and the varsity girl. The varsity girl did some really weird piece that was really hard to understand until about the last line. The Edgar Allen Poe girl was literally screaming at the top of her lungs, and she spoke so fast, even through her intro, that I couldn't tell what was intro and what was Poe's insanity. The Mulan girl was just..Asian. Oh, god. She even had the up-and-down-ness in her voice. She'd speak in English, repeat it in Chinese, speak some more English, say some Chinese, and repeat it in English. Noha did worse than she did in finals, IMO. Tania was just..amazing.
I placed third in round one, barely meeting requirements for semis. The judge's comment sheet really annoys me though. He gave me all "Superior"s, and then during the round, he went back and changed them all to "Good"s. Like, "Screw you, I've decided that you suck!"
round two.
We actually had a real classroom this time. They had really cool red chairs that were so brand new. I went fourth. I saw the spider girl AGAIN. She still did that annoying "Boom, boom!" thing. I went against Sarah York, and a few other people. The people in the next room were so loud I couldn't hear our speech over theirs. I did much better the second time around. I had more emotion, could do walking, and maybe more facials. The judge was an Indian lady. [wtf is up with me and having Indian judges?] She didn't listen to my speech at all. Half the time, she was looking at the clock or absorbed with her papers. She spent huge amounts of time between speakers just writing. And when I get my comment sheet back, guess what? NO COMMENTS. WTF. She gave me fifth, so I didn't make it to semis. Sad, isn't it. I do better and end up doing worse.
The rest of the time..
Kimberly. Claire. Liana. Stephanie. Shannon. Victor. Johnathan. Simon. Pea-flinger. Norris. Tatsuya [rapist]. Wonchan. Johnathan. Michael. Robert. Whoever else. Basically, the poor girls and the horny guys.
But it was fun entertaining. I guess.
